MWR Development update 25.05.22:

A while ago, MALWARE Rewritten actually got a page on Steam, however I simply forgot to make a devlog about it, as generally broke my promise to make more devlogs here. It’s been longer than a year since the last time i’ve posted any updates, and reason for that was probably because as far as I am aware, there’s not much people following the development of this game anyway (My friends do not count), so it was too much effort for that.

Also, since we actually are developers on steam now, Bracket Breakers now have a Steam developer page!

During this year that there were no any updates on itch, I’ve been working on MWR passively, as CyberDonk3y doesn’t do much about it, he’s mostly responsible for exporting the game on linux platform.

One of the recent “big” things was: Major boss 2.

Previous bosses also got minor tweaks and fixes, however I was looking up to making Major boss 2 specifically beacause Major boss 2 and Miniboss 1 are the oldest bosses that were present in the old MALWARE project, the one that was published on Steam workshop and made in Gamemaker Studio 1.

On smaller things:

-Easy difficulty has now been changed to Casual difficulty, because there nothing really changes here except for infinite lives. (Some special stuff for hard difficulty are in the works)

-Beam obstacle, something to put on stage 3.

-New bomber enemy.

-Since the demo released on Steam, I was able to figure out how to add Steam achievements

-More background variations are in the works

-More levels are in the works, and last 2 bosses already do have their concepts done! However i will not show them.

And another thing. Null_ from MWR now lives on the canvas of r/place 2022.

This, is as much as I can recall, I hope whoever reads this post will get to live yet another 100 years until MALWARE Rewritten actually releases.
